Musician’s Studio

Nestled between two homes with distinct architectural styles, this efficient vaulted studio serves as a composition, recording and production suite for concert artists. The design harmoniously unites the architecture of its residential partners on a shared property: the original modernist home to the south, and the new Valley Retreat residence to the west. Clerestory windows suffuse the space with indirect natural light, and a broad, open porch invites lounging to admire the view of the beautiful Rogue Valley. 

A couple, retiring to Oregon, purchased the original home owned by the owners of the Valley Retreat project. They had been musicians/recording artists and wanted a studio space in which to rehearse and record music. They also wanted it to serve as a guest space for additional out of town guests, as they have 2 adult children and other family they wish to accommodate.
